INFORMATION


THE TUFFY HYDRAULIC DISC HARROWS ARE MADE IN MEDIUM AND HEAVY DUTY MODELS.
THE DISC DIAMETER AND DISCS SPACINGS ARE DIFFERENT IN EACH MODEL.
THE TUFFY HYDRAULIC DISC HARROWS ARE WIDELY USED FOR LAND PREPORATION, LAND RE-NEWING AND EVEN THE MAKING OF FIRE BREAKS.
ANGLE ADJUSTMENT IS EASILY DONE BY LOOSENING BOLTS AND ADJUSTING TO THE CORRECT ANGLE THAT IS REQUIRED.
HEAVY DUTY OIL/GREASE BEARING UNITS ARE USED THAT CAN EASILY BE LUBRICATED.
SCRAPERS ON THE DISCS PREVENT BLOCKING OF SOIL AND MATERIALS.

OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT


JOINTING


HITCH THE FRONT END OF THE LONGITUDINAL TRACTION BEAM TO THE TRACTION POINT TO THE TRACTOR DRAW BAR. THE TRACTOR SHOULD MOVE SLOWLY BACKWARDS WHEN HITCHING.
CONNECT THE FRONT END OF THE HYD CYLINDER TUBES TO THE TRACTOR REMOTES
OPERATING
CHECK TIGHTNESS OF ALL FASTNERS AND MOVEMENT OF ALL MOVING PARTS.
MAKE SURE DISC GANG NUTS ARE TIGHTLY FASTENED. REFASTEN AFTER 10-50 MINUTES OF FIRST OPERATION.
USE HYDRUALICS TO LIFT THE HARROW AND INSPECT ALL MOVING PARTS AND POSSIBLE LEAKS.GRIES DISC GANG BEARINGS BEFORE USE.
STRICTLY FORBID BACKWARDS MOVEMENT AND ABRUPT TURNING OPERATIONS
LIFT UP THE HARROW UP FROM THE GROUND BEFORE BACKING UP OR TURNING.
IN LONG DISTANCE TRAVELING, ENSURE THAT HYD GYLINDER SAFETY CLAMP IS FIXED.
TRANSPORT ADJUSTMENT
IN LONG DISTANCE TRANSPORTING, ADJUST THE SPRING LEVELLING DEVICE TO KEEP THE FRONT AND REAR PARTS OF THE HARROW BODY LEVEL OR KEEP THE REAR PART IN A HIGHER LEVEL TO ENSURE STEADILY TRANSPORTATION
 
 
ADJUSTMENT OPERATION


IN OPERATING ADJUST THE HARROW TO KEEP IT IN NORMAL WORKING CONDITION – PROPER HARROWING DEPTH AS REQUARED BY THE OPERATION.
THE FRONT AND REAR PARTS OF THE HARROW BODY IN A LEVELLED POSITION .
OR THE FRONT PART A LITTLE BIT HIGHER THAN THE REAR END OF THE LONGITUDINAL BEAM OF THE HARROW FRAME
ADJUST WORKING ANGLE OF DISC GANG
LIFT THE HARROW, LOOSEN THE JOINT BOLT CONNECTING THE HARROW FRAME AND DISC GANG BEAM AND REMOVE THE LOCATING BOLT.
THEN PUSH THE DISC GANG BEAM TO CHANGE TO CORRESPONDING HOLE TO ADJUST WORKINGANGLE OF THE DISC GANG.

AFTER ADJUSTING THE WORKING ANGLE INSERT THE LOCATING BOLT INTO THE RELEVANT HOLE AND TIGHTEN IT AND ALSO TIGHTEN THE REST OF THE BOLTS
ADJUSTMENT OF THE WORKING ANGLE OF THE FRONT AND REAR DISC GANGS WILL INCREACE THE HARROWING DEPTH.
ADJUSTING HEIGHT OF THE GROSS TRACTION BEAM
REMOVE THE JOINT PIN BETWEEN THE CROSS BEAM AND HARROW FRAME, CHANGE THE LEVEL POSITION OF THE CROSS BEAM BY CHANGING THE HOLEWHERE THE JOIN PIN INSERTED. ADJUSTING THE LEVEL HEIGHT OF THE TRACTION BEAM WILL AFFECT THE DEPTH OF FRONT AND REAR DISC GANGS – MOVING THE HOLE POSITION UPWARD WILL INCREASE HARROWING DEPTH OF THE FRONT DISC GANG AND CONTRARILY THE HARROW DEPTH OF THE REAR DISC GANG WILL INCREASE.
ADJUSTING THE POSITION OF LONGITUDINAL TRACTION BEAM
REMOVE THE JOINT BOLT BETWEEN THE LONGITUDINAL BEAM AND THE CROSS BEAM.ADJUST THE LATERAL POSITION AND ANGLE OF THE LONGITUDINAL BEAM BY CHANGING THE RELEVANT HOLE,
NSERT JOINT BOLT IN THE SELECTED HOLE AND TIGHTEN
THIS WILL ELIMINATE OR REDUCE DEVIATION TRACTION. WHEN DEVIATION OCCURS, MOVE THE LONGITUDINAL BEAM RIGHTWARD, THE GREATER THE DEVIATION THE MORE MOVEMENT IS NEEDED TO THE RIGHT UNTILL THE DEVIATION IS REDUCED OR ELIMINATED
WHEN HARROWING DEPTH OF THE REAR DISC GANG DON’T SATISFY THE REQUIREMENT, MOVE THE LONGITUDINAL BEAM RIGHT TO INCREASE THE HARROWING DEPTH.
GHANGE OFFSET DISTANCE. MOVING THE POSITION OF LONITUDINAL BEAM TO MATCH WITH THE ADJUSTMENT ANGLE OF THE DISC GANG CAN ALTER THE OFFSET DISTANCE RELATIVE TO THE TRACTOR.THE MORE RIGHTWARD MOVED, THE GREATER THE OFFSET DISTANCE. WHEN IT MOVES TO THE LAST RIGHT HOLE TOGETHER WITH ITS GNANGING ANGLE, MAXIMUM OFFSET OPERATION COULD BE OBTAINED FOR SPECIAL REQUIREMENT.
ADJUSTING LEVELLING DEVICE
ADJUSTING THE SPRING LEVELING DEVICE BY ADJUSTING BOTH ADJUSTING POSITION AND SPRING FORCE.
FIRST LOOSEN THE ADJUSTMENT NUT TO REDUCE THE SPRING FORCE, THEN TURN THE HANDLE ON THE LEADING SCREW.
RIGHT TURNING THE SCREW MAKES THE HEAD PART OF THE HARROW BODT RISE, WHILE LEFT TURNING RAISES THE PART.
WHEN LONGITUDINAL LEVELING IS ROUGHLY DONE, TIGHTEN THE ADJUSTMENT NUT TO INCREASE THE SPRING FORCE.
THE LONGITUDINAL LEVELLING OF THE HARROW BODY IS AN IMPORTANT ADJUSTMENT FOR HARROWING , WHICH MAY CHANGE THE HARROWING DEPTH OF BOTH FRONT AND REAR DISC GANGS, FUTHERMORE IT WILL AFFECT OBVIOUSLY THE BACK AND FORTH LEVELING POSITION, OFFSET DISTANCE, SO ADJUSTMENT SHOULD BE DONE WITH GRAET CARE TILL EVERYTHING IS SATISFIED.
